台湾反对党国民党投票决定支持就罢免陈水扁总统举行全民公决。陈水扁因其家
庭成员涉嫌卷入一系列贪污腐败丑闻而陷入困境。

国民党星期三做出的提出罢免陈水扁议案的决定可能在立法院面临挑战。罢免总
统的议案必须得到立法院225个议员中三分之二以上的赞成才能付诸全民公决。

陈水扁的女婿由于涉嫌内线交易5月底被警方受押。他的夫人被控接受一家高档百
货公司的免费购物卷。陈水扁总统的第二个四年任期任期还剩下两年的时间。他
本人没有被指控有非法行为。但是在丑闻不断的情况下，陈水扁的公众支持率大
大下降。

Taiwan's KMT Party Seeks Recall President Chen Shui-bian

Taiwan's opposition party has voted to support a referendum to oust
President Chen Shui-bian, who is embroiled in a series of corruption
scandals involving his family.

The opposition National Party's decision Wednesday to move forward with
a motion to recall Mr. Chen is likely to face challenges in parliament.
A referendum to recall the president requires the support of two-thirds
of Taiwan's 225-seat legislature before it can be presented to the
island's voters for approval.

Mr. Chen's son-in-law was detained by police in late May on suspicion of
insider trading, while his wife has been accused of accepting free
vouchers from an upscale department store. President Chen Shui-bian has
two more years in his second and final four-year term. He has not been
charged with any wrongdoing. But, Mr. Chen's public approval rating has
plummeted as the corruption scandals have unfolded.

记者无国界组织说，谷歌(Google.com)搜索引擎在中国大部份地区被封。这个保
护记者权益的组织星期三说，中国许多大城市的互联网用户一星期以来无法链接
到未经审查的谷歌国际版内容。该组织说，封锁已经慢慢扩展到谷歌新闻和电子
邮件系统，使得中国公众只能看到中国政府审查后的内容。

记者无国界组织说，自5月下旬以来，中国当局在很大程度上成功地设法使得可以
绕过审查的软件失效。这个软件可用来绕过中国政府设置的将中国与世界其它地
区的互联网隔离的防火墙而获得新闻和信息。

谷歌的一位发言人对法新社表示，该公司正在调查看来要封锁其搜索引擎的试图。

Google Blocked in Most Parts of China

Reporters Without Borders says the Google-dot-com search engine has been
blocked in most parts of China. The media watchdog group said Wednesday
that Internet users in many major Chinese cities have had difficulty
connecting to the uncensored international version of Google for the
past week. It said the blocking has been gradually extended to Google's
news and e-mail services, leaving the public only with the censored
Chinese versions of these programs.

The group also said Chinese authorities have largely managed to
neutralize software designed to circumvent censorship since late May.
The software is used to gain access to news and information that is
blocked by the firewall isolating China from the rest of the worldwide web.

A Google spokeswoman told the French news agency (Agence France-Presse)
the company is looking into the apparent effort to block its search engine.
